«Describing Confuse The Cat as a rockband is the same thing as calling a fart a lost cough. It would be better to address this Belgian guitar band, arisen from the remainders of cult band Reiziger, as a postpunk band with a steady pumping dance edge. This Western European 5 piece band has been developing a following for themselves by gigging in various countries – Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy – mainly playing festivals and releasing CDs.

The melting guitars, the propulsive disco beats and the synth hooks remind of the gang of pure Eighties bands as ‘The Chameleons’, ‘The Sound’, ‘New Order’ and ‘Sonic Youth’. A British journalist described their sound as ‘early U2′.

Confuse The Cat knows how to let underground guitars sound above-ground. Confuse The Cat is notorious for its energetic live performance. Don’t be surprised to see flying Rickenbacker guitars and drumming squirrels on stage. Be aware of a stiletto-sharp live sound. A moving live sound that makes you want to shake like hell and that sometimes is described as pioneering nostalgic indiewavepop. They are often announced as a very un-continental band, sounding very British indeed. Their third album, entitled “We Can Do It” proves to be a well-aimed shot.

Confuse The Cat is: Geert Plessers: Vocals & Guitar (ex Reiziger, Kosjer-d) – Dirk Neyens: Drumset – Roel Vanbuel: Bass – Christophe Vandewoude: Vocals & Guitar (Soon) – Dirk Thielemans: Synth, piano(Believo)»
