Arriva uno degli eventi più attesi di questo periodo. Una delle band di rock psichedelico più importanti e storiche d’Europa, The Strange Flowers, in un concerto esclusivo il 29 dicembre. Psychedelic garage, space rock, paisley & power pop si fondono in quello stile unico che da vent’anni ha reso famosa la band in tutta Europa e che concluderà la stagione culturale 2007 del circolo arci “I Sotterranei”.

La storia degli Strange Flowers

1987 Gli Strange Flowers si formano a Pisa dalle ceneri di due gruppi germinali e destano l’attenzione delle radio locali

1988 Apparizioni dal vivo tra cui la partecipazione al Festival Nazionale dell’Unità a Firenze

1989 Due tour in Germania e Svizzera con The Prime Movers, The Sick Rose, The Heartbeats e The Liars

1990 Il singolo Me And The Eggman / Janet’s Faces viene pubblicato in Germania da Unique Records

1994 L’LP Music For Astronauts viene pubblicato in Germania, nella celebre collana Teen Trash, da Music Maniac Records. Gli Strange Flowers partecipano al festival Beat-O-Mania a Berlino dove condividono il palco con Rudi Protrudi

1995 Due brani degli Strange Flowers e uno di Rudi Protrudi & The Strange Flowers vengono pubblicati nella compilation live Beat-OMania At It’s Best e successivamente nel disco solista di Rudi, The Fuzztone

1996 Gli Strange Flowers suonano per l’ultima volta a maggio prima di cessare ogni attività per quasi otto anni

2003 Gli Strange Flowers tornano in attività

2004 L’EP Across The River And Through The Trees viene pubblicato in Italia da Edizioni dei Corrieri Cosmici. A ottobre gli Strange Flowers suonano a Berlino con The Electric Prunes in occasione del festival Reverberation II

2005 L’LP Ortoflorovivaistica, An Essential Guide For The Modern Psychedelician viene pubblicato in Germania da Beyond Your Mind Records su CD e da Nasoni Records su vinile.

2006 Gli Strange Flowers partecipano al Fuzztones Tribute Album. Tour in Germania e in Italia. Partecipazione al Festival Swamp Room Happening a Hannover. Pubblicazione in Argentina (Beautiful Records) e Germania (Beyond Your Mind Records) dello Split CD The Strange Flowers vs Babyscream. Partecipazione a varie compilation. Apertura di vari concerti dei Fuzztones in

Italia e chiusura dell’anno con lo storico concerto a Londra al The Social.

2007 L’LP The Imaginary Space Travel of the Naked Monkeys viene pubblicato in Germania da Beyond Your Mind Records. Partecipazione alla compilation Psychedelica Vol. 2 (Northern Star Records, UK). Nuovi tour in Germania e in Italia. Inizio delle registrazioni del quarto album, la cui uscita è prevista per Marzo 2008.
